We believe that everyone can learn and that all students can be empowered to achieve their full potential.

Designed to meet our student’s dynamic needs, we provide both school and community-based instruction in 1:1 and small group formats. Our hybrid instruction model promotes generalization across settings and allows students to use and apply skills right away.

The day program operates from 9 am - 3 pm Monday through Friday. All students are provided with a 1:1 instructor and Special Education teacher services, Behavior Analyst support, and Speech Language and/or AAC services. Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy and Vision specialist services can also be provided on site.

Curriculum is aligned with the Massachusetts frameworks as part of the IEP process and takes into account the specific learning needs, interests, culture and background of the student. We prioritize the consent/assent of each student as we proceed with instruction and believe that the most meaningful teaching and learning happens only when students are relaxed, engaged and joyful.

In a typical school day all students will have access to:

  • 1:1 instruction

  • Small group learning opportunities

  • Individualized programming

  • Morning meeting, afternoon meeting

  • Calendar practice, journaling

  • Activities of Daily Living instruction

  • Cooking and other food preparation skills

  • Functional academics (money management, functional vocabulary)

  • Naturalized teaching opportunities

  • Generalization of skills to other environments

Our Admissions Process:

If you are interested in the Tate Learning Center please contact us directly to schedule a tour of the school. We can answer any questions you have during this visit.

Typically, we will receive a referral packet directly from the sending school district when a placement at the Tate Learning Center is being considered and we will review the student's IEP, relevant testing, behavior plan and other documents. This gives us a clear picture of the student's history and learning needs. Once we receive a referral packet, we will schedule a visit to meet the student within one week. After reviewing the packet and meeting the student and family we look to make an admissions decision within 5 business days. If the student is accepted, a start date will be proposed and a contract sent to the school district/agency.

If a district or family has questions about our admissions process, please contact us directly. We look forward to talking to you.
